Programming needed for Raspberry Pi

I am looking for someone to write some software that would enable me to use a Raspberry Pi to get the state of charge value from a solar battery that uses modbus RTU for communication, and relay that information to the inverter. Both the inverter and solar battery companies provide the mod bus protocols necessary for communication.

Hi John,
I am not sure whether I can help or not but if you do not have any other volunteers I would be happy to try and help.
I have 5 RPi’s doing various things the most complex being a RPi ZERO W in my humanoid robot which enables me to use my smartphone via the browser to control him instead of the infrared option.
